Canon launches EOS M3 and EOS M10, mirrorless cameras for the Indian market

Canon India has announced the launch of its latest generation mirrorless cameras – the EOS M3 and the EOS M10 at Rs 49,995 and Rs 39,995 respectively. The cameras will be sold online as well as offline retail channels.

The EOS M3 is the higher-end variant of the two mirrorless cameras and represents the third generation of Canon’s mirrorless cameras. It houses Canon’s 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor with a DIGIC 6 image processor. The EOS M3 sports Canon’s Hybrid CMOS AF III technology which allows the camera to lock focus comparatively quicker in the live view mode.

The EOS M3 comes with an EF-M 18-55mm IS STM kit lens. The camera weighs around 319 grams and has an ISO range going from ISO 100 to ISO 12800 (which is expandable to ISO 25600). The camera is capable of shooting at a 4.2FPS burst rate. In terms of video, it can shoot full HD at 30FPS. As is the case with most high-end cameras these days, the Canon EOS M3 also comes with Wi-fi and NFC enabled.

The other mirrorless camera announced by Canon for the Indian market is the EOS M10 which is targeted more at the entry-level users who want a compact camera body but the option to change lenses once in a while. It comes with an 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor along with the DIGIC 6 image processor. It is capable of shooting at a 4.6FPS burst rate.

The EOS M10 comes with an EF-M 15-45mm IS STM lens along with it. The camera supports Canon’s Hybrid CMOS AF II focusing technology. The LCD monitor on the EOS M10 can be tilted by 180 degrees to get accurate selfies as well. It has an ISO range of ISO 100 to ISO 12800 (expandable to 25600).

Speaking at the launch, Andrew Koh, vice president of consumer imaging and information center, Canon India said, “Canon has harnessed imaging know-how to develop new and versatile camera models with advanced features and remarkable quality. We hope that the new cameras create interest among users and encourage us to deliver more such quality products in the future.”
